Education: BA in Political Science with a minor in History, University of North Texas (94); MBA, University of Phoenix (08); Graduate of National Space Security Institute: Graduate of the Concepts of Orbital Warfare Course, Fundamentals of Orbital Operations Course, Advanced SATCOM, Advanced PNT, and SPACE 200 and 300 courses.Kimberly Morris is the Deputy for Space Operations at Naval Network Warfare Command. In this role, she has supervision of Navy SATCOM Operations. She supervises the asset allocation and mission planning of the Navy’s Commercial Broadband Satellite Program. She is currently leading an initiative to demonstrate resilient SATCOM through proactive management and control techniques by using pre-allocated MILSATCOM compatible commercial capabilities as maneuver space.
Kimberly retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 2014 after 20 years as a Communications Officer. During her career, she held several SATCOM centric billets including leading one of the first Joint Force wideband SATCOM “Enabler” detachments from amphibious shipping and after 9-11 as a Communication Company Commander in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Her last assignment was team lead for the Expeditionary SATCOM acquisitions program at MARCORSYSCOM. After retirement, she served as a program analyst in support of OPNAV N2N6 responsible for the Navy’s Commercial SATCOM and Wideband programs before accepting her current position at Navy Network Warfare Command. She is the recipient of the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service award, the Meritorious Service Medal with three stars, the Joint Commendation Medal, the Navy/ Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy/ Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
